We empower and guide caregivers so they can provide valuable support. Get professional support in groups or with a private coach.
S Groups follows the PEERS® model and offers a dedicated Social Solutions group for parents and guardians. You’ll often hear us refer to caregivers as “social coaches.”
A social coach is someone in your life who learns the same skills you or your loved one are practicing—so these strategies can generalize to real-world settings and create lasting change.
For adolescents, social coaches are most often parents. For young adults, social coaches might include parents, adult siblings, other family members, job or life coaches, friends, partners, or peer mentors.
Social coaches learn how to:
Provide support during “coachable moments”
Assist with weekly practice assignments
Help identify and build sources of friendship outside the treatment setting
While having a social coach is not required to participate in S Groups, research shows that caregiver involvement leads to the greatest gains in skill generalization and confidence beyond the program.
Caregiver groups meet for:
12 weeks
Once per week (at a separate time than your loved one’s group)
60-minute sessions
Private caregiver coaching may be a better fit if you have specific goals that can be better addressed in a one-on-one environment.
